This Valentine’s Day, Improvisational Comedy Theater “Faked Alaska” Comes to Seldovia

by Tania Spurkland

Faked AlaskaThanks to the Seldovia Arts Council, Triumvirate Theatre, Alaska State Council of the Arts and a Harper Grant, we are excited to bring you “Faked Alaska” a hilarious evening of improvisational comedy….our actors may not be from Alaska, but with your help, they’ll try to fake it.

This improvisational theatre group hails from Austin, Texas. Every show they perform is completely different from the last. These hilarious performances delight and engage audiences in ways a standard play doesn’t. Anything can happen when these three talented improv actors take the stage!

Besides being able to enjoy a fabulous event for free in Seldovia on Valentine’s Evening, the Seldovia Recreational Service Area Board is providing a complimentary DESSERT that will be served at the event as a thank you to the community for your support!  Not your ordinary cookies – but delicious treats from the Two Sisters Bakery in Homer!  So this evening will be a treat for eyes, ears and heart (lots of laughter) as well as the tummy!  Join us!

Screen Shot 2014-01-24 at 11.06.17 PMIntroducing our youngest Seldovian, Sugar Cain Nichols, who was born on January 22, 2014 to Chastity “Chaz” Cain and Michael Nichols of Seldovia!  She is a beautiful, healthy little girl, weighing in at a petite 5 pound 14 ounces and 18.5 inches tall!

Sugar’s maternal grandfather is Ed Cain, and we all know Chaz’s mom, Sherry Hingley who was the principal at Seldovia’s Susan B English School for a number of years and her husband Monty.    Sugar also is welcomed into this world by her half sister, Abby and paternal grandmother, Pam Nichols who live in Missouri and are excited to meet the new addition to the family.

Congratulations to the Nichols family!  We look forward to seeing you back home in Seldovia real soon!
