We will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill with a statewide Video-teleconference and presentation.  Join us at the Seldovia Public Library from 7 – 9 p.m. on Monday, March 24th.  This will be our first presentation with our own content and the presentations will be made by local members of SOS and Nuka Bay Research.

The oil spill was a huge part of the history of this community and people who were here then have deep and painful memories about that time.  This will be their chance to share and remember.  Bring your memorabilia, photographs, or stories, and be ready to listen and share, as SOS talks about the evolution of small town oil spill response and it’s future.  Audience members will be given a chance to share their memories or special items that help to commemorate the spill.  We will connect via OWL to Barrow, Kotzebue, Homer, Valdez, Craig, Glenallen, and the Loussac Library in Anchorage!   This event will be recorded by the Alaska state library to keep in their archives as well.

You don’t want to miss this special event!
