Homer Electric Association crews were able to energize the main power line between Seldovia and Six Mile Jakolof Bay road at approximately 7:15 pm Thursday evening.

The crew continued to work in the area through the night and at approximately 1:30 am on Friday, power was restored to all 257 meters between the Gerry Willard Generation Plant in Seldovia and Six Mile Jakolof Bay Road.

Today, HEA crews plan to patrol the power line between Six Mile and the end of Jakolof Bay Road to ensure that the line is safe to energize. Once the line inspection is completed, the 58 meters in that area will be put on generation.

A second HEA crew will be in the Big Tutka area today to make repairs to the main power line that was damaged in this week’s storm.

Seldovia, Port Graham, and Nanwalek will continue to be served by the Gerry Willard Generation Plant and the generator in Port Graham until repairs are made to the main line in Big Tutka Bay.

If you do not have power, please call HEA’s outage reporting hotline at 1-888-8OUTAGE (1-888-868-8243).

Please remember to always stay away from downed power lines. The lines are extremely dangerous and getting too close to a line can cause serious injury or death.
