UPDATE September 15, 2014 – Unfortunately this concert has been cancelled.

This dynamic collaboration of Alaskan songwriter Tom Begich and Massachusetts poet Timothy Mason creates vivid new work that transports their listeners.

The performance fuses song and poem into a seamless new form that resonates deeply across a landscape both timeless and contemporary.

They are master word-workers with an easy stage presence and powerful delivery.

Dubbed “Bone Collectors” by an audience member in northern Vermont who found their performance and substance evocative of deeper truths, the duo’s authenticity is compelling.

Crazy Crow Productions will be hosting these two poets this September 19 at the Rowing Club.

I am really looking forward to this show and hope you will come to enjoy this with me.

Seldovia’s End of Summer Mini Marathon Results

This was a little bit of an experiment – knowing that there are many runners looking for an opportunity to race in the beautiful city of Seldovia, we put together this 5K and 10K for Labor Day Weekend! The course was the same as the 4th of July Salmon Shuffle, but backwards! Many folks have commented how that creates a brand new race, as the hills and terrain are traveled in the opposite direction!

Thankfully, Jennifer Giles wanted her whole wedding party to run, so they made up the majority of the runners this year! It was a great start to a new annual event, with beautiful weather and many cheerleaders!

Thanks to Chris and Liane Crosta and their family who marked the course, and staffed the monitors along the course! Thank you Tobben Spurkland who brought his experience and professionalism to our event!

Here are the results! Awards will be given at the community potluck and Chainsaw Carving Awards ceremony this afternoon – so if you are on the top three of these lists – please show up to claim your award!
