This event would be the perfect opportunity for a few local artists/fashionistas to show off their talents in creative ways we could never imagine! From garbage bags, duct tape, foam and 5 hour energy bottles, to magazine pages, yarn, Grunden scraps, envelopes, dryer sheets and feed bags, there was a lot of waste put to amazingly good use!

DSC_3690_SOCC_RecycleFashion2014_Jfchissus_Seldovia.com1With so much variety and obvious creative talent, it was a difficult fashion show to judge. Vivian, Suzie and Valisa were there, taking notes furiously as the gals took to the catwalk and about 35 folks enjoyed the show!

There were 4 categories:

1) Best in Show = There were two winners!  Tiffany Haller & Amanda (Gain) Ginter, Both received one round trip with Mako’s Water Taxi.
2) Most Outrageous = Liza Bieri for her mask – received one round trip for two with Mako’s Water Taxi.
3) Funniest = Gwyneth Hansen “Little White Riding Hood” / received a plush, pink robe donated by SOCC
4) Best Accessory = Ila Dillon for her feedbag totes (available for purchase at the KacheYak Trading Post) / received  Thyme on the Boardwalk gift certificate
The prizes were all donated – thank you to Mako Haggerty with Mako’s Water Taxi & Suzie Stranik with Thyme on the Boardwalk for their generous prizes!
Thanks to the following folks who made this all possible!
