Ukulele Concert Saturday Night, with More Summer Concerts to Come!
by Susan Mumma
I am starting this year’s Crazy Crow Concerts with that zanny guy from Fairbanks, Ukulele Russ. He is a wonderful uke player and will give us a concert Saturday night, May 31st at 7:30pm here at the Seldovia Rowing Club ( ready or not). I will have some desserts, but pot-luck desserts are welcome. Please bring your kids because this will be a special treat. $15 is the suggested donation, but bring whatever you can to help support Russ who does play uke for a living!
YOUR Building …. Needs YOU!
by Damara Burnett, Sea Otter Community Center Coordinator
Ukulele Club, Needlework Night, Internet Café, Tennis Lessons, Yoga, Youth Gaming . . . a lot has been happening these days at the “Old Club,” and this Fall, the Sea Otter Community Center (SOCC) is going to host a handful of Community Education classes, too.
If you’ve ever contemplated teaching a class in an informal setting, this is your opportunity. Share your hidden hobby, talent, or area of expertise with others and, if you like, perhaps make a few bucks in the process! Don’t want to teach, but interested in taking a course? Watch for a Community Education mailing due out in late September.
