The Battle of the Books 2025-26 is on!
Alaska Battle of the Books (ABoB) is a statewide program sponsored by the Alaska Association of School Librarians intended to broaden reading interests, increase reading comprehension, and promote academic excellence. Each year a committee of teachers and librarians select book lists and write questions for all grade levels. Students read, discuss the books, and compete in teams to answer questions based on the books. Competitions are held at the local, state and district level usually in January, February, and March.
We’ve pulled all the titles we own for K-12 grade readers and and displayed them on the top shelf. We have more titles on the way. We’ve focused on grades 3-6, and soon will have every book on the list for this age group. See the comments for links to the ABoB websites for rules, lists of the titles, and more.
Thanks to Piper Paulish for working hard to make our kids’ section the best it can be!
