WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND FREEZING RAIN IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 AM AKST WEDNESDAY ALONG AND NORTH OF THE STERLING HIGHWAY…

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ANCHORAGE HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND FREEZING RAIN…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 AM AKST WEDNESDAY.

  • LOCATION…ALONG AND NORTH OF THE STERLING HIGHWAY.
  • SNOW…1 TO 6 INCHES…HIGHEST AMOUNTS ALONG AND NORTH OF THE  STERLING HIGHWAY.
  • ICE…UP TO ONE TENTH OF AN INCH
  • TIMING…SNOW DEVELOPING DURING THE EVENING…THEN MIXING WITH OR CHANGING TO FREEZING RAIN AFTER MIDNIGHT.
  • IMPACTS…TRAVEL MAY BE DIFFICULT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW…SLEET…OR FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES…AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
