Getting Around Seldovia

The best way to get around Seldovia is By Foot!

Because our community is so centrally developed around the small boat harbor, and along our glorious waterfront on Seldovia Bay, this city is super walker-friendly!  If you come in on the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry system at the City Dock, or on one of the passenger ferries at the small boat harbor, or with one of our two regular flight services into the Seldovia Airport – you can easily walk to anywhere in town! 

Please see the Visitor Walking Map below to see just how “close” we are to everything, from the harbor, airport, gift stores, Post Office, School, parks, grocery store and restaurants!  So come on over – bring your “walkin’ shoes”!

Kayak ‘Atak – Kayaking

Seldovia Bay and the coast lines of Kachemak Bay provide a beautiful setting for the kayaker (amateur to advanced).  Rent a sea kayak from Lynn or Kirby at Kayak ‘Atak. Training and guides are available and in the summer,
5-6 hour tours of the area are available, depending on the weather.
Training may be required – sea kayaking isn’t like taking the family canoe out for a
weekend excursion at the lake.  GREAT FUN !
